Souled Out, Signal’s pastry provider, is shutting down, and more East Bay closures
A running list of restaurants that have recently closed in Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond, and beyond. Souled Out, Signal’s pastry provider, is closing down and plans to hold pop-ups and events at Signal Coffee Roasters in Berkeley, Alameda, and San Francisco. The last day for Souled Out's seasonal cookies, donuts, and pastries is Oct. 25. The closure of El Charro market on Fruitvale is attributed to a fire, and the owner plans to reopen a shop in Oakland months down the road. Taqueria La Familia has sold to a new owner who has kept the old staff and menu, adding Thai dishes to reflect their background, and is now called BKK Mexican and Thai.
