Two "professionals" have destroyed my life with their brutal (paid) advice, expertise and guidance. One of them is Tom Cervantez. Years ago, I sold an Internet company and my partner hired Tom Cervantes. When I remember, he rubbed his hands, took the commission, and took the share of the company, so we are now trying to get to the IPO, so we sold it right away. We submitted a contract that we must pay our royalties. !!
After selling the company, I received a fax late Friday afternoon and asked to sign what appears to be a one-page document. He told us to sign it. There's nothing to worry about. I didn't feel good about that and decided not to sign it. After all, if I had signed to the newspaper, I would have been unable to sell our stock for a long time with many other rock-ups. Of course, when the Internet bubble burst, we would have nothing. I was glad that I didn't follow his advice.
I am so young that I have not dealt with legal issues. I blindly trusted him. It took years and years in endless lawsuits to buy back my rightful ones. The lawyer who later employed to fix the problem was greatly surprised at his stupidity, and she and her law firm told me to sue the man. I declined because there was only one person to argue legally.
I've also heard Tom Cervantes speak at various events, and have also sold out as one of my company's proud rights. For me, this is the last thought on this issue, and I know that it is best to let it go for my health and health.
