The North Beach Business Association is partnering with Sunset Mercantile to host the festival, which will include live music, performances from Club Fugazi acrobats, poetry reading, Italian street painting, beer and wine gardens, a makers zone, family-friendly activities, food vendors and more. The King of the County BBQ Competition and Music Festival will be held for dads, featuring performances from the Uninvited, Sixteen Scandals, Michelle Lambert, and others. The annual Father’s Day fundraising breakfast at Mount Tamalpais offers a unique opportunity to enjoy sweeping views while supporting a more than 100-year-old establishment.

Enjoy an afternoon with Dad in Golden Gate Park, appreciating the natural beauty at the Conservatory of Flowers, or a leisurely stroll and picnic at the Botanical Garden. Get the kids’ zoomies out skating, or scooting along the car-free corridor on JFK Drive and playing at the Koret children’s play area and carousel, plus check out what’s new at the California Academy of Sciences or the de Young Museum. As an added bonus, “Peanuts” fans can enjoy free admission for dads on Sunday at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa.
In collaboration with Sunset Mercantile, the North Beach Business Association is set to host the annual two-day street festival featuring more than 200 vendors on 11 blocks in North Beach. It’s scheduled to include live music on three stages, daily performances from Club Fugazi acrobats, a blessing of the animals, poetry reading, Italian street painting, beer and wine gardens, a makers zone, family-friendly activities, food vendors and more.
King of the County BBQ Competition and Music Festival
An outdoor family festival with dads in mind is set to include carnival rides and kids activities, merchandise and food vendors, a backyard barbecue competition and live music including performances from the Uninvited, Sixteen Scandals, Michelle Lambert and others.
Spend Saturday afternoon enjoying live jazz in the plaza with performances from the Steve Turre sextet, Person2Person quintet, co-led by tenor saxophonist Houston Person and alto saxophonist Eric Person and the MJ New band.
Hike to a rustic lodge atop Mount Tamalpais for its annual Father’s Day fundraising breakfast. Held on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well as monthly from May to October, the morning flapjacks events offer the public a unique opportunity to enjoy sweeping views while supporting a more than 100-year-old establishment. To attend, guests will need to hike or bike to the inn from a nearby parking area. Overnight accommodations are available but limited.
Enjoy a visit to a lavender labyrinth and farm. Stroll among the lavender blossoms in peak season, shop the farm stand and tuck into a picnic while soaking in the sound of live jazz from the John Kalleen Jazz Group.
Visitors to the museum can view various aircraft including an A-3 Skywarrior, A-6 Intruder, Harrier Jump-Jet, Cessna 0-2 and more. Activities will include a European Train Enthusiasts model trains exhibition, ham radio demonstration, food for purchase, live entertainment from the Friends of Ken Band and more.
Carrying on his family tradition, Ivan Neville returns to SFJazz with members of his heavy-hitting band, Dumpstaphunk, on the center’s Miner Auditorium stage. The dance floor will be open.
