Travelers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area have reason to celebrate as Oakland International Airport ushers in new nonstop service courtesy of Delta Air Lines to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Announced on June 10, the route will operate daily and cater to both business and leisure passengers looking to explore Atlanta or connect through Delta's extensive network from its ATL hub. The service features a late-night departure from Oakland and a red-eye return, perfect for those looking to maximize their time on the ground.

Providing a boost to local air travel options, these flights, seated aboard Delta’s Boeing 737-900s, will begin operations according to the newly announced schedule. Promising the comfort and choices of various seating and service levels, passengers eager to make their way to Atlanta can now depart OAK at 10:55 PM, guaranteeing an arrival at ATL at 6:30 AM. Conversely, Atlanta becomes the starting point for a journey that ends at OAK, with flights departing at 7:46 PM and touching down on the West Coast by 9:45 PM.

In a statement issued by Oakland Airport's interim director of aviation, Craig Simon underscored the importance of the new addition. "The addition of this new nonstop route between OAK and ATL on Delta Air Lines will really benefit San Francisco Bay Area travelers – both for those visiting Atlanta and those seeking to connect to the many destinations served from Delta’s ATL hub,” said Simon, emphasizing the route's availability for those inbound to the region for business or pleasure, as per the Port of Oakland.
