Two people have been detained after a shooting at the Powell BART station in San Francisco on Thursday night about 9:30 p.m., according to authorities.

The shooting occurred in the Hallidie Plaza portion of the BART station off Market Street.

According to radio transmissions, possible suspects were described as two males between the ages of 16 and 18 wearing face masks. One witness reported at least one of them running toward the BART platform after the shooting, according to radio dialogue from BART Police.

San Francisco Fire confirmed that there was a shooting of one person, but would not confirm if it was fatal. However, a person under a yellow tarp could be seen on the plaza.

BART and Muni stations remain open, though the Hallidie Plaza entrance is closed for the investigation.
