I had a problem with my employer that I did not pay for the work I did. And I felt very stressed and worried about the whole situation. When I was introduced by a science fiction bar lawyer and I was introduced to Patrick's name, I was so happy to call him.

I went to Patrick to hear about his former employer who had not paid the minimum wage, overtime, or break time.

He told us that an incident had happened. He was very useful and patient in explaining the process and procedure he should take. He answered all the questions we had and told us what was going on.

I've been working since I was an adult, and some of my workplaces are better than others. I never thought I would be in a situation where my employer would be completely taken in and forced to do something. (Usually I decided to go ahead...)

The lawyer was not my first choice.  I worked with my employer for months. The next step was the Ministry of Labor Standards Enforcement.  Unfortunately, DLSE made many mistakes, but it was against my favor.  Due to the strict deadline, I called Patrick to be reviewed immediately.  During the discussion he was very conservative and would not take up this problem unless he felt good.  

Through that process, I wanted to be involved and I was there.  Patrick, along with other people in the Chitin legal team, got it as needed, got it regularly updated, and added me to the decision-making process that I wanted.  He gathered experts to analyze the figures to ensure that the calculations are performed.  His knowledge of the law was in proportion to the practical understanding of the process itself.

As a client, I know that Mr. Chitin's work is the highest quality.  He took on a suit in which another lawyer could not handle or was unwilling, and resolved the dispute to my satisfaction.  

Since I have dealt with many lawyers in my life, I want to emphasize that his level of professionalism and personal devotion stands out.  Law firms with more resources are certainly large. But no one can legally express it as well as Mr. Chin.

In August 2010, I was worried that my employer mistook me for overtime. Speaking with a lawyer, he hated it at first because his profession was not well received. But the meeting with Patrick was full of surprises. He spoke to me like a real man, not as a generous lawyer, and he didn't pressure me to take an uncomfortable position.
